Environmental commitment

Sunbrella, an environmentally responsible brand

From production to use, Sunbrella fabrics combine quality and durability to reduce their impact on the environment.

Endless Stories, a collection woven from recycled materials, designed to last.

Sunbrella is proud to present its Endless Stories collection of recycled fabrics, always designed with performance and design in mind. This collection reinforces Sunbrella's commitment to environmentally friendly production.

For over ten years, Sunbrella has been promoting the use of recycled fibres in its textile creations with the same demanding standards. Whether indoors or outdoors, on land or at sea, the performance of these fabrics remains intact.

As part of its Sunbrella ReCycled offer, Sunbrella has created the Endless Stories collection, which contains up to 50% recycled fibres. Endless Stories marks an important step in this approach by offering a collection of 34 items entirely dedicated to recycled products. The recycled fibres come directly from the production plants in northern France, where the waste is divided into colour groups and reprocessed into fibres. These fibres are then mixed with virgin Sunbrella fibres to be rewound and woven. The recycled nature of the fabrics allows for slight variations in colour between batches. Flamed threads may occasionally appear and reinforce the character of the recycled fabrics.

Sunbrella initiatives

LESS WASTE

Sunbrella's top-of-the-range fabrics won't rot or fade and are extremely durable over time. Because they don't need to be replaced as often as traditional fabrics, they generate less waste.

LOW WATER CONSUMPTION

In the solution-dyed acrylic dyeing process, the colour pigments are added to the core of the fibre during manufacture, to ensure colour fastness and save water. Throughout our manufacturing process, we take steps to reduce the amount of water we use, notably by recycling our washing water through the installation of water treatment plants.

ZERO LANDFILL

For over 30 years, Sunbrella has been recycling its industrial waste such as cotton and packaging. Today, none of our factories sends waste to landfill sites.

NO PFAS

Dickson Constant has invested significant resources to find alternatives to PFAS (perfluoroalkyl) chemicals and has developed an optimal PFAS-free finish for all Sunbrella upholstery fabrics made with acrylic. Fabrics will retain their waterproofing, durability, bright colours, appearance, softness, texture, ease of cleaning and resistance
